Digging deeper: School gardens in Uganda
Worldwide, an estimated 250 million children are not in school. Girls are almost 2.5 times more likely to miss out on education in conflict-affected areas. In northern Uganda, close to the South Sudanese border, communities are innovating ways to improve education for all students — including refugees from South Sudan. In this short video, meet one of these refugees, Esther, and learn how she leads a school garden to feed students, help pay school fees, and learn about agriculture and climate at the same time.
